The Bay Bed Company owned by local couple Ross and Anita Kidd have open an additional, two floor divan bed and mattress store on Common Garden Street in Lancaster city centre.
The couple opened their Morecambe store in 2010 and since then have established a high-street bed and mattress retail business, offering quality products at genuine, value for money prices, coupled with exceptional customer service, which includes free local delivery and free recycling of the old bed or mattress, bucking the trend of the declining high street retailer. This traditional approach has seen their Morecambe store grow to become one of the area’s largest and best known divan bed and mattress centres.
‘Our new Lancaster store has had a great response since opening in January. Over the last few years we’ve seen a lot more customers from Lancaster buying from us in our Morecambe store so it made sense for us to open in Lancaster.
‘In our new Lancaster store we have range of different mattresses and divan beds on display offering varying levels of comfort and support across all price ranges, we truly believe we have something for everyone! We all have individual needs when buying a mattress and with this in mind we would recommend that wherever possible it is always best to ‘try before you buy’ when it comes to finding a mattress that will give you the best night’s sleep’ said Ross.
‘We have a lot of knowledge about the bed and mattress industry and have taken the time to research and understand the construction of all of our mattresses including actually visiting some of the factories in the UK that manufacture the products we sell. By spending time researching and investing in the products on display, we have been able to select a range that we believe offers the very best value for money throughout the price ranges, ultimately saving our customers time and money in their divan bed and mattress buying process. It is important to say though, that whilst we are here to help and offer advice to our customers we’re not here to hard sell!! Our approach is very much to gain information from the customer as to their requirements, offer advice as to what products might suit and then to leave the customer to spend as much time as they wish trying the mattresses until they decide on their favourite’

Our most recent addition to the quality brands we offer is Lancashire-based Burgess Beds. We are delighted to have been chosen as the authorised retailer for the company which has been manufacturing luxury mattresses since 1927.
